LCN approached me with the task of designing a handbook on how to conduct “house meetings”, a type of gathering which gets people together in an informal setting and uses storytelling to inspire action. House meetings were used to recruit thousands of volunteers for the successful Obama campaign in 2008.
The challenge was to transform a disjointed text document into a visual, engaging, and friendly guide with a consistent voice and logical structure. Besides layout, I wrote and edited copy, added and removed sections, selected photos, and did the illustrations.
